Owner & Founder

April has a Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling specializing in Spirituality from Richmont Graduate University. She has completed the hours for licensure for LPC, MHSP, and Supervisor for the state of Tennessee. She specializes in women, marital, premarital and family therapy. Her approaches to therapy most often include Brief-Solution Focused, Family Systems, and Biblical Counseling. April is a professor at Belhaven University teaching social services and psychology classes. She is married with three children and two grandchildren. April also speaks on Mental Health, biblical or relational topics.

M.Ed. - School & Mental Health Counseling

Starr has a Masters of Education in School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling from Lincoln Memorial University. Bachelors Degree from Tusculum University Human Growth and Development, Post Bachelor’s Degree in Exceptional Education from The University of Tennessee Knoxville. A certified School Counselor grades K-12 and Exceptional Educator grades K-12 for over 15 years. A First Generation College Graduate. A former Professional Therapeutic Resource Parent of 10 years. I am the proud parent of three children. Two are adopted and one is biological. They are all spoiled rotten and healthy ages 22, 17, and 14. My speciality areas are ADHD in adults and children, Parenting Skills, Domestic Violence, Drug and Alcohol Addiction, Severe Depression, and PTSD. I  very blessed to be apart of the Sound Living Team. I am looking forward to working with children and families as they learn to live their BEST Lives!

LMFT, M.A. Psychology

Mike has a Masters in Psychology with a focus on Child, Couple, and Family Therapy from Antioch University, Seattle. He is a licensed marriage and family therapy (LMFT) who works with men, couples, families, and children. Mike’s experience includes being an in-home family therapy, running a practice out of an Erlanger community health care center, and being an opioid addiction counselor. He works with people who have trauma-related issues, psychosis, depression, anxiety, aggression, family conflict, mood disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, alcohol and drug addiction, parenting skills, sexual abuse, domestic violence, children’s at risk for entering state’s custody, suicidal and homicidal behavior, behavioral school issues, and autism.

M.A. - Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Jasmine has a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing therapy), DBT, and CBTp.  She specialize in depression, trauma, anxiety, schizophrenia, and personality disorders. Her approach is person-centered and client focused. This journey to wellness is one filled with twist and turns my ultimate goal is to help people navigate their lives and create space for their stories. She has worked with children, young adults and adults with a wide range of concerns.

M.A. - Professional Counseling

Jay has a Masters in Professional  Counseling from Liberty University. He specializes in addressing the mental health needs of men and adolescents aged 13 and up. Jay truly believes in living according to 1 Peter 4:10, which calls for us to serve others as faithful servants.  With over 20 years of experience spanning sales, recruiting, school and community-based counseling, small business ownership  and youth mentoring, Jay has dedicated his life to teaching, training and edifying individuals to discover and  reach their god-given potential. Married for 22 years to his best friend, Jay and his wife Marci  are proud parents to two teen-aged children.

M.A. - Counseling

Marcus has a Master of Arts in Counseling from Ball State University, with specialized coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis, as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Family Science and Christian Education from Anderson University. He was a Developmental Disabilities Approved Behavior Analyst for 16 years, and a licensed Behavior Analyst in the State of Tennessee for 3 years, and has extensive experience supporting children, couples and families through individual, group, and family therapy.
